SilverWood Originals
SilverWood Originals occasionally offers traditional publishing deals to non-fiction work which shows strong commercial appeal – usually local interest titles or those with an identifiable niche market.
We currently publish Maggie Ashford's Memories of a PierMaster's Mistress as a SilverWood Original title. The book is available on board the paddle steamer Waverley and in many local outlets in the Clevedon and North Somerset area. Alternatively, you can purchase online in our bookshop.
We also publish Carolyn Lewis's The Novel – A Perfect Recipe, a writers' guide book packed full of tips and useful advice for anyone working on their first novel. The book is in stock at Blackwell's Bookshop, Park Street, Bristol or can be ordered online here.
Forthcoming titles from Silverwood Originals include Carolyn Lewis's second writers' guide book The Short Story – A Perfect Recipe, Tony Giles's Seeing the World My Way, a new collection of poetry from Mark Christmas The Abandoned Soldier – Reflections of War, and our new local interest title Bristol Lives by former journalist and broadcaster Maurice Fells.

We'd be delighted to consider your work for publication as a SilverWood Original, but we do have firm submission criteria:
Please send an initial query email to assistant.silverwood [AT] btinternet.com which contains the following:
- The title of your book.
- The genre you feel your book fits into.
- The total word count of the finished manuscript.
- A one line pitch (which captures the book in a single sentence).
- One paragraph packed with information about your book and its intended market.
- A second paragraph telling us about you, and why you're the best person to write this book.
- The first 12–15 pages of your manuscript pasted into the body of your email (not as an attachment).
- Your name and contact details.
Please allow us a couple of weeks to get back to you.
Good luck!
